Reflecting whilst moving forward

Day to day life as well as life events can be stressful for us all. We may be able to chat and confide in our friends and family for most things, some things or all things.

However sometimes people find it difficult to discuss worries or aspirations with people they know, or feel those close to them listen but do not hear. For others it is important to take time out of their normal day-to-day life to reflect on their life and their self. I offer one to one counselling either short or long term depending on your needs for issues ranging from low self-worth, depression, abuse, anxiety, sadness, relationship difficulties, health concerns, work issues, life changes etc.

I believe the aim of counselling is to provide you with an opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe place. I will use knowledge acquired from my training to help you gain a better understanding of yourself, your current situation and your relationships.

I value being kind, curious, inclusive, optimistic and non-judgmental. I believe everyone has untapped potential and strength to use to make their lives better. I will offer a safe space where you are free to discuss any subject. I will help you explore your thoughts and feelings so you can make decisions about how you want to now start living a life with more contentment, meaning and purpose.

What to expect.

We can arrange a time to have a brief chat, email or text to discuss what you think you want from sessions or to ask me any questions before you decide to book a session.

At our first session I will ask questions about your reasons for coming and other general questions to help me to start to understand your past and your relationships. There is no obligation for you to say anything you don't want to.

We will also talk about confidentiality in our first session. This is also a time for you to ask any further questions you might have.

Sessions are 50 minutes long.

I offer private 1:1 sessions for adults online nationally or in person in a room in Aylesbury Town Centre, Buckinghamshire.

I have worked with people with a variety of concerns for example those who feel:

·         Anxiety. This can be about identity, future prospects, relationships, social situations, exams, work achievement, the climate, phobias etc.

·         Loss in the form of a death, relationship breakdown, conceiving difficulties, abortion, a future that was imagined.

·         Major life changes including parenthood, new career, menopause, illness, retirement, miscarriage.

·         Abuse in their past is still impacting their current lives and they want to talk to someone about it possibly for the first time.

·         Low confidence getting in the way of you doing the things you would like including a lack of assertiveness.

·         Relationship difficulties with partners, parents, children, friends, extended family, work bosses and colleagues.  Some people come with questions about breakdowns or re-evaluating their relationships to decide if they are healthy and should continue.
